Streamstar privacy policy


This Privacy Policy applies to the internet portal streamstar.com (“portal”). If you do not consent to the provisions of this Privacy Policy, please do not use this portal or any services offered by it.

By using this portal, or downloading Streamstar Software and services offered, you consent to the provisions of this Privacy Policy and you grant consent to process and use personal data within the scope and for the purpose specified below. 1. Scope and purpose of collection, processing and use of personal data

1.1 Collection and processing of data when downloading or registering as a user

When you register with the portal and/or download and use Streamstar Software and associated services (“services”), you provide Streamstar some personal data to create and set up a user account. The scope of information provided by a natural person (not self-employed person) includes the following: email address, name and surname, home address, bank account number or paypal. In case of a natural person (self-employed person) and legal person, the following data is provided: company name, registered office, statutory body, VAT number, bank account number or paypal.

The personal data required for viewing the portal for information purposes are provided on a voluntary basis. For the purpose of downloading the Streamstar Software, using the portal and services associated with it, provision of valid and accurate data is crucial. Therefore, by registering, you confirm that the personal data provided is valid, complete and accurate and in case of any changes of your personal data, you are required to make the necessary modifications in your user account settings or notify Streamstar at support@streamstar.com without any delay.   

1.2 Collection and processing of registered users' data 

During the use of the portal and the services associated with it, we collect and process the data of registered users for technical, statistical, research and development reasons, for the purpose of provision of services, to guarantee security and safety of Streamstar and our users, and for a better understanding of the users’ needs which subsequently enables us to improve our services, to personalize them and to display the data properly to other users. We store the data of registered users for the duration of the purpose of its processing, after this period the data is destroyed.

Besides, in order to improve provided services the portal and the services may use different technology, which enables Streamstar to collect certain technical information, for example: your IP address, type of operating system in your computer, internet browser type and addresses of connected sites, other technical and statistical information, software and portal usage information, license key utilization and license key activation and validation, and similar. The information collected is not personally identifiable and is limited to the minimum information necessary to optimize effectiveness.

Additionally, we use the e-mail address as a direct marketing tool to inform the user about Streamstar´s current promotions or for market research purposes. By accepting the Privacy Policy you agree with provision of your e-mail address for marketing purposes. Your approval with provision of your e-mail address for marketing and promotion purposes might be revoked anytime; in such case please contact us via email at support@streamstar.com or your user account.

2. Data sharing and disclosure

When you use the portal and the services associated with it as a registered user, you acknowledge that some of your personal data is shared and disclosed to others and may be transferred across international borders to server locations supporting the portal and services (including but not limited to transfers from those locations back to the country of your registration) for operating and developing the portal and services, including transfers to Streamstar subcontractors, partners, agents or representatives, who perform tasks related to the portal and services, or for the purposes of storing the data in the relevant databases. For further information about managing the scope of shared and disclosed data please refer to section 3.  

Apart from the above mentioned circumstances, Streamstar may share personal data if we have a good-faith belief that access to or disclosure of such data is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law or the legal requests, to enforce applicable Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and also to protect the rights, property or safety of Streamstar, its partners and our users.

3. Access to personal data, user account settings

During the use of the portal and the services associated with it, you are able access all your personal data at any time via user account settings. We advise you to familiarize yourself with the user account settings through which you have a complete control over your personal data. You can check your personal data, correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated information and also view the scope of sharing and disclosure of your data.

You can also deactivate your user account by sending email to support@streamstar.com with the request, mainly in case you stopped using the services. Upon deletion of your account, Streamstar will stop sending you any notifications and e-mails.

4. Security

Streamstar uses several well-established technical and security measures to protect the user’s personal data from being lost, destroyed, or from being accessed by an unauthorized third party. To maximize security, processes involving the collection, processing, and use of personal data are under strict supervision. Furthermore, access to personal data is limited exclusively to the employees of Streamstar, contract partners, subcontractors and representatives who require access to this data for the purpose of the portal and service operation, and who are bound by strict conditions of maintaining confidentiality.  

5. Cookies

With the aim to simplify and improve the user’s experience during the use of the portal and the services related to it, we use a technology known as “cookies.” Cookies are data files that are automatically saved by your web browser onto your hard-drive whenever you access the portal. We use this technology for identification and automatic signing in of the registered users.

If you do not wish to receive cookies, or you want to be notified when a cookie is set, you can configure your browser, if the browser allows given settings.

6. Changes

We may revise, change and modify this Privacy Policy from time to time at our sole discretion. All changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted via portal and you will be notified of such changes via e-mail or your user account. Changes to this Privacy policy are effective when they are published here on the portal. By continuing to use the portal and associated services, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.

7. Applicable Law

The administrator of the portal, Streamstar, is a company incorporated in the Slovak Republic. All the personal data is collected, processed, and used in compliance with the law of Slovak republic. By using the services offered by this portal, you confirm and acknowledge that you understand provisions of this Privacy Policy and consent to be bound by them.
